Discussion panel: future of work

Kuba Marchwicki

This is not so much a new trend as it is one that will be amplified over the next few years; doing deep collaborative work across time zones on company critical projects without being a ‘regular employee’. It differs from consulting (you’re brought in to assist but you aren’t part of the core work of building a company), freelancing (time and task/project bound work for a company/client) and temporary employment.

Companies need changing, employees need changing, managers need changing. But what exactly is needed for companies to build an ability to employ a professional without them being a regular employee. It seems to be a multidimensional strategy, with different point to focus (depending where the organisation happens to be at the moment). We would like to drill down on some of those, looking for places to start the journey to work differently, to reinvent the organisation.
